- Corrosion
- Flaking Piant
- Alloy Air Leaks
- Scratches
- Cracks
- Flat Spots
- Buckles
How long does it take?
All wheels are different so the time scale for refurbishment varies. In general though a set of 4 wheels take a full day to refurbish. An accurate estimation of the time scale can be provided upon us viewing the wheels.Alloy Wheel Refurbishment Process
At Auto Wiz we offer a full powder coat refurbishment, restoring the wheel into the same high quality finish it was originally given in the factory. This is a far superior and harder wearing finish than what can be achieved by a “man in a van”. The two types of wheel refurbishment cannot be compared!!!Please read the detailed explanation below of our refurbishment process:
Stage 1:
The wheel is removed from the car. The tyre, valve, balance weights and centre cap are all removed from the wheel.
Stage 2:
The entire wheel is chemically stripped back to bare metal, removing all of the old finish. After the stripping is complete the wheel is neutralised and steam cleaned.
Stage 3:
Kerb Damage and Corrosion are now removed from the wheel using various tooling. The entire wheel is then lightly shot-blasted in order to further clean the wheel and provide a uniformed key for the new powder coat finish to adhere to.
Stage 4:
The wheel is then pre-heated in our purpose built Alloy Wheel Oven in order to de-gas the wheel and help achieve a perfect powder coat finish. A powder coat primer, base coat and lacquer is then applied and backed in our oven until fully cured
Stage 5:
Finally the tyre and a new tyre valve are carefully fitted and balanced. The wheel is then inspected prior to being refitted to the vehicle using the manufacturers torque settings.
Auto Wiz Alloy Wheel Refurbishment comes with a 2 year guarantee, providing the wheels are not kerbed again!
